The idea

A number without its uncertainty isn’t a forecast.

Power prices and financial series are the same hard problem in different clothes: heavy-tailed, regime-switching, driven by price. We model them probabilistically, with calibrated intervals, evaluated the way you actually trade and benchmarked against the simplest thing that works. The quantile in the name is the whole point.

Quantile Analytics is led by Panagiotis Papoutsis, PhD, a data scientist with a decade in industry across energy, finance and technology, working where research meets production. The person who scopes the work is the person who writes the model.

The PhD, in statistics and machine learning at École Centrale de Nantes and Sorbonne, was built on quantile regression and Bayesian prediction. That is where the practice takes its name.
